Research Update - 3 February 2009

Yesterday the final 302 requests were e-mailed to the National Military Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. This completes all the requests needed for the WWI and WWII records. If we don't make it through all of them in April, we will make another trip in June.

Also, I met with Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Goznell regarding her brother James Shands. She shared photos of him along with POW cards and letters regarding his medals (Silver Star and Purple Heart). There was also a letter from MacArthur. She also shared a book that was written by one of his comrades. The title is Soldier - Priest by John J. Morrett.

I have appointments set up this week with Willie Bishop regarding her relative Roy Bishop and with another gentleman who has 2 uncles and 1 great uncle on the memorial.
